Abracadabra In The Forest 2023 - Cancelled

To all our Abracadabra In The Forest 2023 festival goers.

The Busy Movement (TBM) are devastated to announce that we have to CANCEL Abracadabra In The Forest 2023.
This is due to the last few weeks of weather, particularly the amount of rainfall we had through Cyclone Hale. Our festival site is nestled in the valley below the Kaimai Ranges and the rivers that flow around our site are part of their catchment. The river has come extremely high and due to the festival site still recovering from the rainfall in December and then hit with Cyclone Hale we have had a huge draining issue which has left our site flooded in areas that we could not get access for our build and pack in.
TBM are extremely gutted to have to Cancel the festival again. Unfortunately we have been left with no option due to the insane weather NZ summer has had this year. The Busy Movement apologies for any inconvenience this causes you.

The bright side is we will now be combining our two festivals together, a vision we had for 2024.

We are bringing you an incredible collaboration of our two boutique festivals into one. Where we will be bringing the two productions together. A dream of ours for the future has come earlier than expected.
With 2 incredible productions on both stages, a massive multi genre line up, an alcohol license , New sound systems, lounges, performers, live artists and much more. We are hoping that these new dates work for you and we can create our masterpiece that will be Abracadabra @ Ponderosa Ranch.

To all our ticket holders you would have received an email with the process to get a full refund including booking fee or the option to transfer your tickets.
As you can imagine this was a very hard decision for us to make.

A new forest festival of your dreams, spanning over 3 days this Jan.

Spanning over multiple spaces, cosy lounges, toasty dance floors and creative coves of performance and art.
A hand picked platter of sound journey specialists, vinyl selectors, funk-swayers and pieces of our countries best electronic DJ’s of a deeper flavour.
Abracadabra is striving to bring you another festival experience live no other.
From days to nights, a multi genre affair of music, love and laughter with a sprinkle of magic.

Come enjoy the full festival experience or even the 1 night Saturday/Sunday journey with us.
Located in the same forest Ponderosa Ranch was, we will be transforming the spaces in the the wonderland of abracadabra colours and vibes. 🪄🎩

All tickets include:

• 2 stages with Music, Art and Performance.
• Swimming Hole (certain times)
• Toilets/Water
• Massive Campsite for vans, buses, tents and gazebos. Camp with your mates!
• Communal Kitchen
• Onsite Security

• Some Rubbish bins but please Leave No Trace, take your rubbish with you where possible.

• Arrive Saturday 21st to 22nd festival closing 6pm
• 1 night and 2 days
• $160+BF

Kids (Under 13)

• Free Entry!!
• Please select the kids ticket option
• A full festival Adult pass must be brought to get this ticket. proof of caregiver / parent will be checked at the gate
• The age range for Kids at Abracadabra is up to the age of 14
• Children under 10 need to be actively supervised by an adult at all times – the kids ages between 10 – 14 will have an Abracadabra privilege to go exploring with a radio.
• Kids activities which include a Kid Area for them to watch movies on a projector , Spray Paint Art, Volleyball, Silent Disco and be entertained throughout the festival!
