/ DE-TU
De-Tu is the collaborative project of two artists from Bristol: C-Side and Tubby Isiah. Each brings a unique approach to production, culminating in their signature sound characterised by clean percussion, deep basslines, and a clear homage to soundsystem culture.
Throughout the 2010’s, De-Tu gained international notoriety, starting with a release on their own label Green King Cuts, closely followed by their EP “Fruitcake” on Infernal Sound. In 2018 their EP “Koshi” on White Peach Records was received to critical acclaim, with Magnetic Magazine hailing De-Tu as “literally the best in the game.” Two years later, De-Tu released a three track EP “Speak Numbers” on Innamind Recordings, all the while continuing to release music on both White Peach and Infernal.
De-Tu continues to write music and tour internationally, as well as managing their own hand-cut vinyl record label Green King Studio.
/ VERSA
As his name suggests, VersA has built a reputation on his versatility as a producer, as well as his dedication to the culture. In the nearly two decades since his debut album “Da VersAtile EP” in 2006, he has continued to release music consistently, pioneering his own sound in each of the various pockets of dance music as he goes.
In the early 2010’s, he became widely known for his unprecendented smoothness of sound with shuffling percussion, well-exemplified by his 2011 release on Smokin’ Sessions, “5am”. He continued to evolve this sound with his EP “Shadow Movement” on the record label On The Edge, and soon after, his collaborative track “Nomad” with Biome on the label Macabre Unit.
Throughout the mid-2010’s VersA shifted toward dub music, with “Rainfall In Dub”, his first release on System Music in 2015. Since then he has seen multiple releases on Zam Zam Sounds and Green King Cuts, as well as singles on labels including Modern Hypnosis and Kanu Kanu. More recently, VersA saw two additional releases on System Music in 2020 and 2021 respectively.
Even with such an extensive back-catalogue, VersA isn’t sitting on his laurels. His dub-techno track “Ice” was released on the label The Moth Club in 2022, and he shows no signs of stopping.
