Since it was founded in 2003 by Sensient, Zenon Records has gone on to become an absolute powerhouse in its field, representing a stunning line up of international producers and performers and firmly securing its place on the world stage of underground electronica.
Zenon has always had a significant influence on the Aotearoa festival scene and has been a major player in the south pacific, with a steady stream of incredibly talented artists in their ever growing roster, they boast a truly unique sound which has even gained its own label, universally recognised as “Zenonesque” A descriptive term encompassing the particular production that showcases a psychedelic bush prog that is at this point a genre of its own, characterized by a specific psy/minimal flavour with a darker touch than your garden variety progressive trance. “deep and intelligent minimal/electronica with strong lashings of musicality and futuristic sound design”
Given that Zenon records and the legends that surround the name have contributed so much to the flavor of music on Kiwi dancefloors, we are deeply honored to be hosting this historical event, The New Zealand leg of their world wide celebration: 20 Years of Zenon Records.
With a triple header lineup featuring the creator himself Sensient, Undisputed Aussie weapon Tetrameth AND our very own Chilean born hermano talentoso – Deepnotic as well as some stonking support from Auckland based artist: Deja Vu.
