Back on Track returns from the future to bring you a night of the flyest four to the floor at Auckland’s home of four four, Ink Bar.
A night dedicated to the hottest sound and dancefloor groove, Back on Track aims to bring together the best DJs in the country for a night of sonic madness. The brainchild of Heylady, Back on Track has been melting floors and laying down slick cuts for 10 years, and now it’s Auckland’s turn to get a slice of the action.
Joining her in the booth this time round are two acts who have been and are a massive part of her musical journey, Greg Churchill and Osey.
Greg Churchill, NZ’s godfather of house, purveyor of killer sound and creator of a vibe that is second to none. Holding down a Friday night residency is no mean feat, doing it for the amount of time Greg has deserves a medal. Always on point, always throwing down the hottest sound, always a cranking floor.
Osey, the master all all things deep and groove laden, head honcho at LO-FI, production whizz under his Red Project alias. Osey has a style that’s instantly recognisable, always melodic and clever, and peppered with his own cheeky re-rubs and edits. An Osey set means you won’t be able to keep still from the toes up.
Closing out the lineup, the lady herself. Known for her speaker rattling baselines and ability to light up the floor with a vengeance, Heylady believes fun and frivolity is paramount which is why her sets never conform to any silly sub genres, it’s all four four isn’t it?
